With Father’s Day right around the corner here are four perfect homemade gifts that you can have your little one make for their daddy.
As a parent we long for Mother’s and Father’s Day, as a day of accomplishment, and honor. What makes that day extra special is to spend it with the ones that made us a parent in the first place.
I have always been one for sentimental keepsakes, as well as everyone in my family. With each passing year we always make the comment “wow I wish I had a foot print or hand print from when he was that little.” When you’re in the moment you don’t think about the little things, I always feel like fathers day is the perfect day to think, and be mindful of the small things and capture the sweet milestones of our growing little ones.
Option one is for the coffee and tea lovers, mugs are always a great option. My parents still have their mug that they had gotten for their own mothers and fathers day 23 years ago! For my husband and I’s first Mother’s and Father’s day my brother Bryan had gifted the two of us a mug with all of Carter’s special pictures. Still today brings a smile to my face every time I get to see the pictures on the mug, bringing the best memories back!
Option two: T-Shirts are a wonderful option especially when you have multiple little ones, or making it as a grandparents gift with all the Grand kids. It’s so special as the years go on! The one pictured below was made as a grandparents gift in 2003 with all the cousins.

Option three: Stepping stones for your garden. What a fun activity to do with your little ones. Giving them the opportunity to stamp their hand or foot print and allow them to decorate it matching their personality with beads, marbles, and other items that will weather well.
Option four: Canvas art that allows your father to have keepsakes marking the age and milestone. As we all know our little ones will only call us “Dada, or Daddy” for so long. We have watched our son grow up trying on his dad’s work boots trying to walk in them and felt that it would be a sentimental gift to give to his dad that works so hard to give us the life that we dreamed of.
We have personally made each and everyone of these gifts in our family. Each one of these gifts have been valued and treasured as they could never be recreated.
I can honestly tell you that the fishing pole, and bait that I got my father for Father’s Day back in 2010 did not last as long as the mug that we made back in 1997 that gave a smile every time he poured his coffee.
There is still plenty of time till Father’s Day to do one of the following, we hope your father feels loved, valued, and special for their day that they are so deserving of.
Be sure to tag us with your special gifts that your little ones made for the special man in their life that fills that father role for them at #SSM or #SimplySouthernMama. Father’s come in all shapes and sizes, no one will fit the same exact mold, let’s celebrate each and everyone of them with a thoughtful gift.
Most importantly Happy Father’s Day!
