Sweet Southern Iced Tea

Do you even live in the South if you have not dabbled in a Sweet Tea Recipe?

There is nothing like a hot summer day, in the pool with a big glass of iced cold sweet tea.

Prep Time: 5 Minutes

Cook Time: 15 Minutes

Total Time: 20 Minutes

Shopping List:

  • 6 Tea Bags (Black Tea/ Standard Bags)
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Cups Hot Water
  • 6 Cups Cold Water
  • ⅛ TSP Baking Soda
  • Lemon Slices for Garnish

Instructions

  1. Pour two cups of hot water into a two quart pitcher.
  2. Add six tea bags, and steep for approximately fifteen minutes.
  3. After fifteen minutes remove and discard the tea bags.
  4. Now add the baking soda and the sugar to the tea, and stir well until it is well dissolved.
  5. Add the six cups of cold water, and stir.
  6. Place the pitcher in the refrigeration, and once it is cold – it’s time to serve with ice. 

Optional to add lemon slices as a garnish.
